Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was released in 1998. Directed by Terry Gilliam and starring Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro; if you have never been under the influence, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas will be your first time.
I saw Fear and Loathing for the first time in the evening by myself. It was after a long day of work, TGIF, and I sat down to watch a sweet Johnny Depp flick. I have never been “high” or under the influence before, but once Fear and Loathing was over, I felt like I had just inhaled massive amounts of marijuana.
Fear and Loathing is based on a short story by the master writer Hunter J. Thompson. Johnny Depp plays Raoul Duke a sports journalist and Benicio Del Toro plays Raoul’s attorney, Dr. Gonzo. Fear and Loathing is a tale of the two’s escapade in Las Vegas.
It is one crazy ride that will flip you inside, outside, everywhere out.
Just thinking about it gives me motion sickness. It is a must see film that anyone who loves film should see.
Terry Gilliam’s direction is perfect. Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro are unbelievable. The cinematography is hallucinogenic.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is one hallucinogenic dream that should not be missed.
